What joining means
You are asking for launch contact from the openxet project, maintained by Jannes Stubbemann. Joining does not create an account, start a paid service or subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not sell the list or use it for unrelated marketing.
What the service stores
The private database stores your email address, the time of your first request, this notice’s version, and a hash of each removal receipt. A receipt is a random code that lets you withdraw your request. We store its hash rather than the usable code.
To limit abuse, the service temporarily stores keyed hashes derived from network addresses and request counters. It does not store raw IP addresses in the waitlist database. Expired counters are removed during later requests. Hosting providers may process connection information and operational logs to serve and protect the site.
Where it goes
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Submissions go to our waitlist service on ChatGPT Sites, backed by a private Cloudflare D1 database. The form’s address is openxet-waitlist.jannes73978.chatgpt.site. Only the project’s authorized operator can inspect the list; there is no public lookup or address directory.
We add no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts to the website. The waitlist does not require cookies or browser storage. The service currently saves requests and removal receipts; it does not send automated confirmation emails.
Remove your request
After submission, the confirmation page shows your private removal link. Open it and confirm removal to delete your request and its receipts. Opening the link alone does not delete anything.
If you lose the link, submit the same address again to get a new one, then use that link to remove the request. Addresses are not verified by email: this is a record of interest, not proof of identity or an account.
How long we keep it
The maintainer reviews the list at least quarterly. Requests withdrawn through a valid removal link are deleted immediately. The policy is to delete the remaining waitlist and any exports within 90 days after the waitlist closes. This is an operator procedure, not an automatic expiry timer.
We will not move your address into a newsletter or account database without a separate choice from you. Hosting providers’ operational records follow their own retention practices.
Questions
Use your private removal link for withdrawal. For a general question about this notice, contact the project through GitHub. Do not include your email address, receipt or other private information in a public issue. For a security issue, follow the private reporting instructions.
